One of our favorite restaurants in the city! The butter chicken is unbeatable and their willingness to always accommodate our lengthy list of allergies is always so appreciated! The service and food here is so amazing. Also appreciate that they donβt blare the music like so many places nowadays. Those with nut or gluten allergies, rejoiceβ you are welcomed here! They even accommodate a separate butter chicken without cashew!
The tandoori chicken, laacha paratha, roti and butter chicken were very tasty. Best I have had in St Johnβs. Service and ambience is also great. I would go back again. I did not like dessert so much though. The saffron cake tasted like a normal tea cake and the gulab jamun was a bit rubbery. Iβm okay with the 18% tip but donβt understand why itβs applied on the total bill including hst.
We enjoyed a pleasant dinner at India Gate. We ordered a tandoori plate and eggplant dish. The tandoori meats were tender and flavorful. The eggplant was equally well prepared. We also liked the cozy ambiance.
In search of something different than pub food, we went to India Gate for vegetarian fare and were not disappointed. Mains don't come with rice, but a single order of rice plus plain naan was more than enough for our two dishes. Flavorful and a good amount of spice, plus friendly service made this a good dinner decision.
I ordered the dinner for 2. I do this so I can can have food for the next day. This is without a doubt THE best Indian food in Eastern Canada!! I have been eating Indian Gate food for almost 30 years, I think it keeps getting better all the time!!!
This was my first visit to India gate . I liked the vibe here , soft music , spacious and dim lights dining and good customer service they provide . Servers are very polite and friendly and make sure you enjoy your food . In St. Johnβs so far this was the only place where you can get tasty Indian food . Quality and Quantity was pleasant. I would recommend this place for sure
